Francine Meyrueix was born in Arles and for a few years she has transported the crèche of her childhood to Boucoiran, as well as many other Provençal traditions. “I was 10 years old when, after watching my mom for a few years, it was I who had the chance to do the nursery”, she says.
“Since then, time has passed… I have always kept the box where we put our little figurines and every year in December: it’s time to bring out the characters, the houses, the church, the mill and the nativity. This one comes from my grandmother, the figurines are in plaster, very well preserved. “ On the evening of December 24, the baby Jesus was placed in the center and then for L’Épiphanie, Francine Meyrueix will add the Three Wise Men offered by a friend.
There, they will stay until February 2, the day of Presentation to the Lord, then the santons will return to their pretty cardboard box to sleep until next year.
