By now, the soap has about 5,000 episodes, and is in fact among the longest-running Italian soaps. It’s now in its 26th season. Not everyone knows some curiosities about the soap. One of these curiosities is that in reality Un posto al Sole did not come from a local idea: the format, in fact, is inspired by the Australian series Neighbours, which tells the stories that live in the same circle of houses next to Ramsey Street.

The thing that makes the Neapolitan soap unique is the fact that the events that are narrated take place in contemporary reality, therefore they also follow – in their own small way – what happens in current society. However, there is every face of the city in the stories of the tenants of Palazzo Palladini. Sometimes, they are beautiful events full of joy, others – on the other hand – are imbued with complicated situations and often connected to society’s problems.
