A Bulgarian woman living in France shared a photo from a French supermarket where Bulgarian oil is sold, and the price surprised Bulgarian users on Facebook, she saw Plovdiv24.bg.“This oil was photographed last night in France at a price of 1.20 euros, produced by a Bulgarian company near Yambol. There is a transport cost to France, but there is no oil under BGN 5 here. We are the country with the richest citizens in the EU – we have money, we indulge by paying double,” wrote the woman who shared the shot.

“Nonsense, nowhere in France did I see oil below 2.50 euros,” another user replied.

At the moment in Bulgaria, the average price for a liter of oil is about BGN 4, which means that it is much more expensive than in France. The users who commented under the publication were also disappointed by the cheaper price of a Bulgarian product abroad.

“For some time I have been explaining to people that there are “controlled” products in Bulgaria. Oil, sugar, alcohol, meat, medicine and more. They are controlled by oligarchs who monopolize the price, so the mafia has a country.”

“Well, it’s cheaper to go on a trip to France and buy from there… .but the Bulgarian people are to blame for everything that happens to them.”

One user shared that oil is also expensive in Spain at the moment, with its price being 2.50 euros or nearly BGN 5 per liter.
