On the morning of Saturday, November 28, a person died in a fire in Cesvaine region, the spokeswoman of the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Agrita Vītola informed LETA.
At 9.41, firefighters received a call to Cesvaine district, where a one-storey wooden residential house with an attic was burning. A total of nine people were evacuated from the building, while one person was taken out of the burning apartment and found medically dead.
Fire containment is ongoing. The burning area is being specified, Vītola added.
Meanwhile, 11 fires were extinguished in Latvia last Friday, from 6.30 am to 6.30 am, but no people were killed or killed in them.
Within 24 hours, SFRS employees also performed 18 rescue operations and received four misleading calls.
