A Norwegian P-8 is flying here. But only in a year will it replace the old surveillance planes.

Finally, Norwegian P-8 surveillance aircraft are flying. But why does it take Norway over a year to get the planes ready for missions, when the British managed it in 56 days?

The P-8 surveillance aircraft “Munin” was able to take off again six days after it landed in Norway. The first two Norway has received have been on the ground since February and March. Now the plan is for all three to go on the air during June.

It was a day of joy at Evenes airport near Harstad. A Norwegian surveillance aircraft of the type P-8 Poseidon could take off.

It happened 14 weeks after the first of three such planes arrived in Norway from the USA, and over two months after the Air Force hoped to be able to start the flights on Norwegian soil.
