For a few weeks, the announcements follow one another. They reflect the oil and gas industry’s recent interest in carbon capture, i.e. to store CO2 in depth, or to reuse it as a resource.
In mid-April, Exxon Mobil, an oil and gas “super major”, announced to its shareholders that the global carbon dioxide capture market will weigh something 4 trillion dollars by 2050. Four trillion. That number snaps like an expression from Captain Haddock. Too big to be true?
