Libreville, Friday December 8, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The Perenco group factory that the Head of State is inaugurating this Friday aims to boost local production and reduce imports of this resource by 1/3.
The Head of State was invited yesterday by the general director of Perenco to inaugurate the Batanga factory this Friday, December 8, 2023. The industrial unit presented to Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema by François Perrodo will have to reduce Gabon’s imports of liquefied natural gas by 1/3. Just as part of its production should enable lighting the town of Mayumba and other localities in the country. The host of the President of the Republic also took the opportunity to present the activities of the multinational he manages.
It appears from his explanations that Perenco, which has been operating in Gabon for around thirty years, intends to further develop its activities in the exploitation of gas and oil fields. In its projects, it intends to set up a gas-to-electricity conversion plant in Mayumba and another specialized in the production of liquefied natural gas in the Cap Lopez area. With a capacity of 700,000 tonnes annually, the industrial production unit in gestation should provide numerous jobs to the Gabonese and allow the country to appear in the group of African countries exporting liquefied natural gas from 2026.
