The days are exceptionally hot in this month of May, the nights too. The proof with the latest readings from Météo France in the Var where heat records were broken this weekend. On the night of Friday to Saturday, the temperature in Hyères has never dropped below 21.9 degrees according to Meteo France. What seems to be most surprising is that the previous record dated from… the previous night (20.1 degrees).
21.3 degrees on Levant Island
It was also very hot on the Ile du Levant: 21.3 degrees, and even a little more, 22.2 degrees at the coolest night in Porquerolles where the previous record dated back to 1953.
