On June 13, a patient suspected of having the coronavirus was admitted to a hospital in Kota, in northern India. After spending two days in intensive care, he was transferred to an isolation room.
During this time, the temperatures were around 40 degrees, and it was stuffy in the establishment. According to Vice News, the air conditioning was turned off in the unit so as not to spread the coronavirus.
The patient’s relatives therefore took an air conditioner with them in order to cool the room. Except that, as the Indian Express explains, they unintentionally disconnected the respirator that kept their loved one alive.
His battery eventually fell flat and the man eventually died. An investigation has been opened.
