The most exciting moment in the last episode just before the summer break was of course the end of the search for Jacques (Peter Van de Velde). Breakup and Marriage

Goodbye
The outdoor shooting of that ceremony took place in April with Leah Thys. The scenes in the TV studio would not be shot until a few weeks later. But at the end of April, Leah was hospitalized with her husband because of corona. A few days later she even had to say goodbye to Jos. Because of that sad day, the recordings at ‘Thuis’ were immediately suspended. We had to adjust and rewrite some scenes here and there, because she couldn’t be on set anymore.”

The actress’s private drama explains why, in the run-up to the finale, the viewer saw how the wedding was being prepared without the presence of the bride. Even when choosing her wedding dress, she was absent. “We had to adjust the storyline and chose, among other things, to temporarily leave the character Marianne abroad,” Roggen continues. “Maybe not obvious at first sight, but it is what it is. And viewers were informed about the situation through the press. They understand. The scenes for the new season featuring Leah will all remain, but have been postponed. We won’t be recording it until the end of July, when we expect Leah back on set.”
