A loaf of bread in Austria costs as much as an apartment. The tragedy that happened to a young woman who ordered bread with chives

A young woman who wanted to buy bread from a pastry shop in Austria found herself paying a fortune at the cash desk.

Aleksandra, 25, wanted to buy bread with chives from a pastry shop in the Viennese district of Brigittenau. When he arrived at the cash machine and scanned the product, he was amazed: the bread cost 337,186 euros, reports Heute.

“The screen said I would have to pay 337,186 euros, the price of an apartment. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I was stuck, on the verge of a heart attack”said the customer.

So, he asked a supermarket employee for help. “Even the man couldn’t believe it and called another colleague. Everyone took a picture of the screen‘ said the young woman.

The error came from the weight calculation: the bread it weighed 718,946 kilograms.

In the end, the customer paid only 68 euro cents. The supermarket has blocked the product and the toll booth until “solve problems”.
