On September 26, 2019, 6-year-old Mercedes and two other children were playing on a mandatory climbing frame in the yard of the Csány kindergarten, when the wooden toy fell over – writes the Bors.
In the accident, the little girl was so seriously injured that despite efforts to revive her, they could not save her life.
The other two children luckily escaped the fall with minor injuries. It later turned out that there were regular complaints about the kindergarten’s toys and that the municipality planned to renovate them. They also found that

In the case, an investigation was first launched against an unknown perpetrator, and later the settlement clerk, the mayor and the head of the kindergarten were also among the suspects.
Bors found out that the proceedings against the clerk were terminated a few days ago, on the grounds that he did not have the right to give instructions regarding the kindergarten, so he could not impose restrictions on the use of toys for the kindergarten workers. The kindergarten is maintained and operated by the municipality, not the mayor’s office, and the clerk is the head of the latter.
Béla Radics, the father of little Mercédesz, resigned to the decision, because according to his own words, he does not expect innocent people to be dragged, but the real culprits to go to prison.

It is a fact that eight years before the accident, during the mandatory inspection of the same climbing frame, the lack of a shock-absorbing surface was determined, and it was indicated that there was a concrete sidewalk in the fall area of the toy. Because of this, it was declared dangerous.
At that time, the experts did not recommend the closure or liquidation of the climbing frame, but its relocation and filling of the gap. However, there would not have been any other suitable area in the kindergarten yard to set up the device. Incidentally, the tragedy itself was caused by the toy’s plinth rotting.
