At least 19 people died and about 60 were injured in a huge fire that broke out on Sunday in the New York borough of the Bronx, said the city’s mayor, Eric Adams. “This is going to be one of the worst fires we have ever witnessed in our time”said the chosen one, quoted by the New York Times.
About 200 firefighters were mobilized on the spot in the middle of the day. The firefighters identified “31 serious injuries to civilians”they tweeted around 12:30 p.m. local time.

In images circulating on social networks, huge flames and thick black smoke escaped from a window of a multi-storey building.
Another fire this week killed 12 people, including eight children, in a neighborhood in central Philadelphia.
