Vincenzo Grifo has prematurely extended his contract with SC Freiburg, which originally ran until 2024. As usual, the Breisgauer did not provide any information about the new term.
“Whether on the field with his mixture of creativity and goal threat or off the field as a figure of identification – Vince is a player who connects and has developed into a face of SC Freiburg,” said sports director Jochen Saier about the 29-year-old noble technician.
The Italian, who was born in Pforzheim, explained: “I feel incredibly comfortable in Freiburg and have found a piece of home here with my family. We are also on the right track in terms of sport and I would like to do my part to continue on this path.”
Grifo has returned to the sports club twice, most recently in September 2019. It didn’t work for him in Mönchengladbach and Hoffenheim. All the better in Breisgau: with nine goals and ten assists, Grifo was Freiburg’s top scorer last season and thus played his part in the sports club playing in the Europa League in the new season.
