A Dilapidated Wall in Georgetown: The Shocking Sale and Legal Disputes Surrounding the Alan Berger Wall

A resident of the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., has offered a crumbling wall for sale for a very large sum.

A real estate broker on the Internet published an advertisement for the sale, accompanied by price details, as he wrote 50,000 dollars. However, the shock was the master of the situation when customers discovered that the advertisement was not for a house in the neighborhood, but for a dilapidated wall.

Alan Berger inherited the wall from his father, who bought it to show off that he owns real estate in Georgetown.

The story began when Berger disagreed with his neighbors, as the damage to the wall caused water leakage and damage to the building beams.

After the neighbors failed to convince Burger of the need for repair, he was fined $1,661 by the Department of Buildings.

Damaged homeowner Daniela Walls said: “I can’t let the house fall down. Everyone is working on this. It’s not because they have a vendetta against Alan they want to solve a problem.”

Daniela offered to buy the wall from him for its taxable value of $600, but Berger wouldn’t accept.

The real estate agent told The Washington Post that about a dozen people had expressed interest in the Alan Berger Wall, but after being told they would need to get approval from the Georgetown Council, they decided it wasn’t worth it.
