A difficult task for Iga Świątek. We know the time of the Polish woman’s game in the Roland Garros quarter-finals

Swiatek is doing great in this year’s edition of Roland Garros. The 21-year-old easily won in two sets with Łesia Curenko, Alison Riske and Danka Kovinić. It was not until the 1/8 finals that 19-year-old Qinwen Zheng caused her a lot of problems. Ultimately, the Polish woman won 6: 7 (5), 6: 0, 6: 2.

Pegula defeated Qiang Wang, Anhelina Kalinina, Tamara Zidansek and Irina Begu in the quarter-finals. In each of these meetings, the American was the favorite. Only in the quarter-finals, her opponent will have a better chance of winning.

This will be the third match of these players. In 2019, in the 1/16 finals of the tournament in Washington, Pegula turned out to be better, while during the semi-finals of this year’s edition of the competition in Miami, Świątek won. The leader of the world ranking is the favorite not only of this match, but also of the entire Roland Garros, which she won in 2020 after a 6: 4, 6: 1 victory with Sofia Kenin. The American, however, is the highest ranked tennis player, apart from the Polish woman who remained in this tournament, so you absolutely cannot take away her chances of making a surprise.

The match Iga Świątek – Jessica Pegula will start on Wednesday, June 1, around 2 p.m. The stake will be a promotion to the semi-finals. In it, Daria Kasatkina (20th WTA) or Weronika Kudiermietowa (29th WTA) can wait for the Polish woman, directly ahead of the world ranking leader that day. The eventual final will most likely be Leylah Fernandez (17th WTA) or Cori Gauff (23rd WTA).
