The French Blood Establishment (EFS) organized, with volunteers from the Association of voluntary blood donors Abers Iroise, a two-day blood drive at the Espace culturel de Saint-Renan, on Monday February 20, 2023 after -noon and Tuesday 21 in the morning. In total, 162 donors plus six new ones came to donate blood, compared to 221 people in February 2022. Among them, Hugo, 26, from Saint-Renan, and Alexandre, 29, from Plouguin, gave their blood for the first time.
Pierre: “I travel as soon as I can”
Pierre, 22, from Saint-Renan, was also present and donates blood regularly. “I travel whenever I can, also for platelet and plasma donations.” There must be an interval of eight weeks between two whole blood donations, four weeks between a whole blood donation and a platelet donation, and two weeks between a whole blood donation and a plasma donation; two weeks between a plasma donation and any other donation.
The next collections in Saint-Renan are scheduled for Monday June 19 and Tuesday June 20, and Wednesday August 16 and Thursday August 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the work at the Cultural Space, these collections will take place in the sports hall of the Saint-Stanislas college, at 2, Voie Romaine, in Saint-Renan.
