A serious accident took place this Friday morning in Melay, a town of Saône-et-Loire bordering the northern part of the Loire department. According to the Journal of Saône-et-Loire, an 18-month-old child found himself in a sewerage pipe after escaping the vigilance of his childminder.

The latter tried to rescue him but then fell head first into a few inches of water. The victim, aged about fifty, was helicoptered to the Dijon University Hospital, his vital prognosis being largely engaged.
The child was also examined by a professional, before additional examinations linked to a possible psychological trauma.
