Exhibition to be found from May 31 to June 9 at Alphonse Daudet high school.
Last year, the students of first – art history specialty – proposed, in their Daudet high schoola motionless journey to the visitors of the exhibition “Born between the sky and the gods“.
Yasmine Adel, Aymeric Alario, Ecaterina Bolohan, Louise Dagran, Noémie Cartailler-Combe, Lili-Marie Delattre, Alix Di Jusco, Baptiste Gillouin, Gwennan Jolivet, Jade Lessieur-Bridel, Caitlin Montchal, Antoine Pascal-Bonhoure, Patiite, Flavie Pauchet, Clémence Perez and Héloïse Tauney are the names of the students who will exhibit their work.
Never be 30 is an exhibition organized in partnership with Carré d’Art – Museuml’Nimes School of Fine Artsthe CACNthe city of Nimes and the plastic arts section of the Lycée Daudet.
Following a call for projects and the will of the City’s cultural partners, eight high school students in the first plastic arts specialty and eight students from Esban were selected to take a new look at the emblematic works and artists currently exhibited in the rooms of Carré d’Art (museum) on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the collection.
Installed in the Alphonse Daudet high school showroom, 16 contemporary creations were produced for the occasion. They offer a gaze resolutely fixed on the “after” through the investment of a variety of mediums: painting, drawing, installation, performance, animation and sculpture.
Never be 30 is a dialogue between a 30-year-old museum and young artists, graduates or in the making. Never be 30 is a dialogue between the under 30s and art, the artists they watch, sources of inspiration, discussions, debates and creations.
All this is still a long way off, but you might as well tick the box in the diary, por the inauguration, on Tuesday May 30, 2023, a tour open to the public will begin at 5 p.m. at Carré d’Art with a visit to the 30th anniversary of the collection and will continue at Lycée Daudet at 6 p.m., with performances (opening at 6:30 p.m.).
In addition to this public moment, two mediation sessions in the presence of participating students and high school students will be offered on Tuesday June 6 and Friday June 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A private and commented visit is possible on request via [email protected]
The exhibition will be free and open to the public from Tuesday May 31 to June 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday in the Alphonse Daudet high school showroom located at 3 Boulevard Victor Hugo in Nîmes.
