Widowed with no paid work or health insurance, she struggled to feed her children and had to pay for prescriptions, medical tests and hospital bills. After the tumor eye has been removed, the good lady is looking for something to buy an ocular prosthesis for her baby boy.
TUMOR IN THE INTERNAL EAR- Cancer is a widespread evil in our society. The disease affects all social strata. F. D. 42, brings edifying testimony. Waves emitted by mobile phones, tablets, wifi, computers, TV and radio antennas can cause tumors. These radiations or radiations are a kind of energy in the form of heat, visible light or invisible to the naked eye. The most dangerous for humans are non-ionizing radiation.
Cancer can reach all organs of the human body: the brain, lungs, neck, breasts, skin, eyes, etc. Mortality is very high, but it cannot be estimated because there has been no study of the cases in Mali, reveals the specialist, Dr Bagayoko Aphou Salé Koné, head of the radiotherapy department of the Mali Hospital.
Radiotherapy is the treatment of cancer by ionizing radiation with devices that produce the X-ray. The X-ray has the ability to destroy cancer cells. According to her, today there are more than 8,000 people living with cancer in our country. The report is alarming because the hope of recovering health is slim. This is due to the fact that patients do not always have access to appropriate care. “On average, we receive 300 to 400 patients a year. We only have one machine for the whole of Mali, “says Dr Aphou Salé Koné. That is why, the patients wait 3 to 6 months. Meanwhile, the cancer is progressing.
A complicated disease, cancer very often appears thanks to favorable factors. These are malignant cells that have the ability to reproduce indefinitely and that will destroy the organs in which they grow and spread through the blood or lymph (the fluid in the human body).
COURBATURE- In addition to the misuse of the mobile phone, the location of mobile phone antennas on buildings is also a favorable factor. There is a risk of developing the tumor within a radius of 100 m, warns Dr Koné Nagatié, director general of the Malian Agency for Radiation Protection (AMARAP).
The specialist points out that the radiation breaks the cells of the human body. Sometimes these cells can replenish on their own or as a result of therapy. But in the case where the cells are deformed, without being able to reconstitute, they lead to the formation of a tumor.
“When you are a victim of radiation, you feel tiredness, aches, which can be temporary or persistent. It can also cause vomiting, burns inside or outside of the human body, “said the Director General of AMARAP. The specialist adds that if you are exposed to radiation at a certain level, it can cause cancer. Dr Koné Nagatié explains that mobile phone antennas must obey standards.
Indeed, the regulatory distance of an antenna and of transmission frequency must be 4 m from the roof of the building where it is located. If it is installed on the ground, it must be at least 100 m away from homes, states Dr Koné. He points out that without compliance with these standards, the effects of radiation can automatically raise the temperature of the human body.
BUSINESS- In our country, setting up mobile phone masts has become a business, a way for homeowners to make money. But few people care about the health risks.
For ten years, K. A. has lived in a building where a mobile phone antenna is located in Djikoroni para. “I have a scientific friend who drew my attention to the danger I run. He reports that two students who heard of the danger have moved. He has an interest in imitating them because, according to the AMARAP specialist, the case of this concession is worrying. The antenna does not respect the regulatory distance of 4 m.
To illustrate the danger of antennas on rooftops, the specialist evokes the case of India where many people had installed mobile phone antennas on their buildings. After 10 to 20 years, they found that the cancer rate had increased significantly.
It should be noted that children, exposed to radiation, generally develop eye or kidney cancer.
Kids should be less exposed to wifi, connected toys, mobile phones, tablets, etc. “We must avoid letting children ten and under sleep with the laptop because their brains are still under construction. They are more sensitive and the damage is greater, “advises our interlocutor who advises adults to avoid putting the phone close to the heart, glued to the ear, in the pocket for men.
As a reminder, the mission of the Malian Radiation Protection Agency is to protect the population against ionizing radiation. The texts in force only provide for this type of radiation. To take into account non-ionizing radiation, which concerns mobile phones, antennas, tablets, wifi, it is necessary to re-read the agency’s creation texts.
