Since then, the two hectares covered by the former technical center have been free. For much of the Covid-19 pandemic, its offices served as a vaccination center. At the same time, a reflection was opened, within the municipality, on the future of these two freed hectares, in the heart of the city, not far from the town hall and Quintaou.
Energetic transition
Quickly, the mayor of Anglet, Claude Olive, mentioned the idea of creating a positive energy district, exemplary in terms of the environment, soil dewatering and energy transition. A so-called “competitive dialogue” procedure was launched between July 2021 and November 2022. Meetings with the various candidates were organised. All this part of preparation took place without communication, to avoid exchanges between candidates. At the end, it is the project carried by the promoter of La Rochelle, Eden promotion, with architectural firms Aldebert Verdier from Bordeaux, Jacques Bouchetonfrom Nantes, who was retained.
Prior consultation
This project includes the creation of 120 housing units, with grouped individual housing, intermediate housing or small collective housing not exceeding R + 3, part of which is social housing for rent, or for accession with solidary real lease. To achieve this, a modification of the local urban plan is necessary. From now on, within the framework of the future local urban plan of the Basque Country agglomeration, it is its assembly which ratifies the modifications of the PLU of its members. This was done during the agglomeration council of December 10, 2022. For such a procedure, prior public consultation is necessary.
Information meetings
As part of the consultation process, two public workshops will be organized at the Baroja Estate. Thursday 19 January at 6.30 p.m., on the theme “renaturation of the site and public space” and Thursday 2 February at 6.30 p.m., on the theme “Use, travel and neighborhood life”. You can register online for these workshops at anglet.fr.
