The lifeless body of a man was found in the Meuse, just behind the Huy cultural center, this morning. A passer-by had seen him near Port Neuve Voie. We don’t yet know his identity.

This morning, it was around 7.20 am when a lifeless body was recovered in the Meuse, close to the statue of the dolphin, just behind the cultural center of Huy. A passer-by had seen a body floating at the level of the Port New Way, near the Iron Bridge. Firefighters recovered it a few dozen meters away.

Initial reports indicate that he is a man. In view of the state of the body, the body had been in the water for a short time. From the first visual elements, it would seem, however, that it was not Stephen Clément, this 27-year-old man who disappeared last December with his partner Sandra Paermentier. On January 3, Sandra’s body was recovered near the harbor of Statte. The unfortunate woman was in the passenger car on the passenger side. At that time, the body of his companion had not been found. Excavations continued in the Meuse in order to find it but without success.

The Liège prosecution does not currently wish to communicate on this matter. Dubois undertakers took over the body of the unfortunate. The coroner is expected to pass within half an hour.

The body could also be that of Jehaytois Jean Vanheeswyck which we have not heard from since December 19.
