A 31-year-old died on the spot in a severe collision between two cars near Kalofer

The driver of one car is in serious condition in hospital, the sub-Balkan road in the area is temporarily closed

The traffic on the Sub-Balkan road is closed due to a severe accident with a dead person. The signal was received at 10.40 today.

According to the information from the Ministry of Interior in Plovdiv, near Kalofer a Mercedes car with Stara Zagora registration turned in a turn and collided head-on with a Plovdiv-registered Mitsubishi.

A 31-year-old passenger in a Mercedes died on the spot, and its driver, 55, was taken to hospital in serious condition. A third man, 29, who was traveling with them, was unharmed. The 47-year-old Mitsubishi driver was also not injured. The scene of the accident was inspected by an operative group of the Karlovo Regional Hospital. Until its completion, the traffic is closed. The Ministry of Interior in Plovdiv also indicates detour routes. The cars for Kalofer stop from the village of Vasil Levski to Banya, through Plovdiv to the Trakia Motorway. Travelers from Kalofer to Karlovo pass through Pavel Banya – the village of Turia – the town of Brezovo – Plovdiv – the Trakia Motorway.
