Cologne (dpa) – Sexual abuse of patients has been the charge against a urologist before the Cologne district court since Tuesday. From 2015 to 2019, the now 49-year-old specialist abused young, well-trained men. The German doctor, who specializes in erectile dysfunction, is said to have deliberately scheduled the treatment appointments with the victims in the late afternoon in order to be able to commit the deeds undisturbed by staff and practice partners. He is said to have given the assaults and posing photos to the nine victims as medical tests and documentation.
As a result of the acts, the 49-year-old turned out to be unsuitable for practicing the medical profession, according to the prosecution. After the indictment was read out, the public was excluded at the request of the defendant. The process is scheduled with five days of negotiations until the end of September.
