3,294 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed on Wednesday (September 30) in the Netherlands. This is the highest number of new infections detected in a day so far, informed the National Institute of Health (RIVM). The previous daily record of the number of infections of 3,011 was recorded on Tuesday (September 29).

New cases of infection reached new highs almost every day since mid-September. On Tuesday, it exceeded three thousand for the first time.
According to the US Johns Hopkins University in the Netherlands, 125,914 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been reported so far, and 6,456 people have died from COVID-19.
On Tuesday evening, new restrictions came into force, announced on Monday (September 28) by the government. Prime Minister Mark Rutte said the restrictions are inevitable due to the speed at which the virus spreads.
Entrepreneurs were advised to let workers work from home, except when their presence was essential. Bars and restaurants must be closed by 22.
The Dutch are to avoid traveling between Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague – cities with the highest infection rates – unless necessary. Retail stores in these cities will be able to refuse to serve customers who do not wear masks.
Sporting events will be closed to the public and meetings will be limited to 40 people. Up to three people will be allowed to participate in social gatherings at home.
