The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has sentenced Maximina Luis González to six years in prison, as the author of the fire in the Emergency Service of the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital (Tenerife), which occurred in August 2018.
The sentence condemns the woman for the crimes of arson with danger to the life and physical integrity of the people and for six minor crimes of injury to a one-month fine for each of those affected. In addition, González is sentenced to compensation for civil liability to the Canary Health Service corresponding to all damages caused in the hospital service. Justice has taken into account as a mitigating factor of criminal responsibility his serious addiction to the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
