– For the vast majority, their own pocket is more important than the public service. How to call giving yourself gigantic increases in times when the Polish economy is entering a huge crisis? When are hundreds of thousands of employees and officials informed about cuts and wage cuts? This is supposed to be the new solidarity? – asks the senator of the Civic Coalition.
The KO senator is not surprised by PiS’s hypocrisy regarding pay rises. He reminds that when there was an election period, the authorities reduced salaries, and today, when the next elections are in three years’ time, they are quietly proposing gigantic increases. Bury does not want the opposition to follow the same path.
That is why he criticizes the leaders of the opposition parties in strong words. There are all indications that the Civic Coalition will support pay rises for politicians. According to Bury, anyone who raises their hand for increases will spit in the face of citizens and their voters at the same time.
– I cannot agree with such behavior, therefore I expect reasonability from the leaders of the opposition parties and the club’s authorities, and I appeal – stop and respect people in the time of crisis. Think about how you will look in the face of Poles who will lose their jobs. Poles who will not be able to survive until the first, because their salary has just been cut by 20 percent. – appeals Jacek Bury.
From the very beginning, Bury emphasizes that he did not go into politics for money. During the election campaigns to the regional council Lublin and the Senate announced that he would resign from the diet of the councilor and the senator’s salary. And so he did – he donates all the money to scholarships for talented youth from Lublin.
– I am aware of the consequences in the event of breaking club discipline in this case. However, from the very beginning, we agreed on a policy of reason, not greed. If it is necessary, I will be an independent senator without club membership – this will not prevent me from working for my voters – announces the senator.
Late Thursday evening, he joined the Sejm bill increasing earnings, incl. MPs. The president, prime minister and ministers are also to receive increases. For the first time in history, the First Lady will be able to receive a salary.
According to the presented provisions, the president would receive almost 26 thousand. PLN, Prime Minister, Marshals of the Sejm and Senate 22,000 PLN, and the ministers, deputy marshals of the Sejm and Senate approx. 18 thousand. zł. Deputy ministers, voivodes and deputy voivodes could also count on higher salaries. In turn, the First Lady would receive 18,000 monthly. zł. It’s about gross amounts.
The bill also provides for an increase in subsidies for political parties. And so PiS can get PLN 34.9 million (previously 23.3), KO: PLN 29.8 million (previously 19.9), Left: PLN 17.1 million (previously 11.4), PSL: 12.4 PLN million (previously 8.3) and the Confederation: PLN 10.2 million (previously 6.8).
