A visit to the thermal bath on the Zurich Hürlimann site last weekend has unpleasant consequences for many people. You will need to be quarantined in isolation for the next few days. Because: A guest who later tested positive for the corona virus was at that time in the Zurich thermal bath.
–
The operators of the Thermalbad & Spa Zürich have confirmed the occurrence. The person infected with the virus was therefore in the bathroom on the last Saturday. “We were asked by the authorities to forward the visitor data from August 2,” says CEO Thierry Geiger to BLICK.

In Zurich alone, 20 people in quarantine
Immediately after the visitor’s positive corona test, contact tracing was activated – across cantons, as Patrick Borer from the Zurich Health Directorate explains. Because the person concerned does not come from the canton of Zurich itself.
–
Due to the applicable corona protection measures, a maximum of 200 people are currently permitted in the thermal bath in Zurich at the same time – half of the otherwise possible capacity. How many people now need to be quarantined is unclear. In Zurich alone, however, the authorities are in contact with 20 people, according to the Health Directorate. According to the current state of knowledge, however, no people were infected.

Protection concept remains unchanged
The thermal baths and spas in Switzerland have been open again since June 6th. For operation, however, they have to follow numerous new regulations. This includes, among other things, a mask requirement for massages, limited access to closed rooms and strict spacing requirements. “Fortunately, none of our employees have had to go into quarantine,” says Thierry Geiger. The operation will therefore continue as before.

Even with the Zurich Health Directorate, there are no plans to change the existing rules for the thermal baths even after the recent case. «The protection concept remains. No changes are currently planned, »says Patrick Borer.
