Barnsley FC with coach Gerhard Struber has been officially saved from relegation from the second English football division since Tuesday. Wigan Athletic’s appeal against a twelve-point bankruptcy deduction was rejected by England’s league, the “Latics” relegated to the third division. Barnsley ended the season one point before the relegation zone.
Wigan had to drop out of the Premier League in 2013. In the same year, the club had the greatest success in club history. With Paul Scharner, Wigan won the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
