Kevin Fiala presents himself after the almost five-month break in the NHL because of the coronavirus pandemic in high spirits.
The 24-year-old from Eastern Switzerland scored the first goal in Edmonton in the 3-0 victory of Minnesota Wild against the Vancouver Canucks in the 3rd minute. He was successful in powerplay with a direct shot, with Vancouver’s goalkeeper Jacob Markström not doing the best.
In the last 18 games before the break, Fiala had scored 14 goals, a total of his 24th goal of the season. The 2-0 (31st) and 3-0 (60th) were scored by defender Jared Spurgeon, who had already played the pass to Fiala’s 1-0. Wild keeper Alex Stalock showed 28 parades. Minnesota leads 1-0 in the Best of 5 series. The winner of the duel reaches the playoff round of 16.
