MEXICO CITY
Data indicates that around 20 young people from León, Guanajuato, who were on an adventure trip through the Sierra Occidental de Jalisco, were kidnapped allegedly by members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).
Apparently a couple of Leonenses resisted and managed to escape, but one of their companions named Joaquín Miguel “A” was shot and later died.
The vacationers were on the ride known as “Vallartazo”, they were driving RZR type ATVs when they were surprised by criminals, according to local media and sources from the Reforma newspaper.
The Leonenses, some of them small businessmen, were plagiarized in the Fluvial Avenue, near the intersection with the Great Lakes Avenue, in the Fraccionamiento Fluvial Vallarta.
So far the city council has denied a “rampage” by criminal groups.
