Babacar Ngom makes part of his land available to Ndingler

Dakar, July 19 (APS) – Interior Minister Aly Ngouille Ndiaye announced that Sedima’s chief executive officer Babacar Ngom has made a hundred hectares of his land available to the people of Ndingler to whom oppose a land dispute for a few weeks.


“Following the consultations, a provisional solution was proposed, in order to allow the farmers to start their field work, at this beginning of wintering. Mr. Babacar Ngom made available to the populations part of the land of his land title, representing a hundred hectares, ” he explained on his Facebook page.

He informed having made a trip to Ndingler on Saturday “with a view to finding a compromise in the land dispute opposing Mr. Babacar Ngom to the populations” of this locality of the commune of Ndiaganiao.


He indicates that “now, a surveyor has already started the necessary delimitations in order to allow about forty families, to exploit each of the cultivable lands for this wintering”.


According to the minister, “discussions will continue with a view to finding a final solution” to the land dispute between the businessman and the people who are demanding the restitution of part of the land allocated to him.

The populations of Djilakh, a neighboring village, also claim a part of the surface occupied by the CEO of Sedima of which they demand the restitution.

This so-called Ndingler affair has become widely publicized, and people have received support from various civil society organizations.

It has brought back many other land disputes across the country.
