Starting August 1, working pensioners will grow pensions – Russian newspaper

Pension adjustment for working retirees will begin on August 1.

As the Rossiyskaya Gazeta was reminded in the Pension Fund of Russia, this is an obligatory annual procedure. According to the vice-rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Alexander Safonov, the adjustment of pensions for working pensioners is laid down in the law on insurance pensions. If a pensioner continues to work, insurance pension contributions are deducted from his salary. Consequently, his pension should be regularly adjusted upward, taking into account the funds received.

Pensions may increase annually by no more than three pension points. So, last year the cost of the pension coefficient (point) was 87.24 rubles. The maximum increase in pensions amounted to 261.72 rubles. This year, the retirement point is 93 rubles. Consequently, the maximum increase will be 279 rubles.

In 2019, about 14 million pensioners worked in Russia. Since 2016, the pension of working pensioners has been indexed after their dismissal. The number of individual pension coefficients accumulated by a person is multiplied by their actual value (in 2020 this is 93 rubles) and the actual amount of the fixed payment is added to the amount received (in 2020 it is 5,686.25 rubles). The more points accumulated, the higher the pension.

Pension adjustment for working retirees is automatic. Also, from August 1, the Russians will automatically recount the amount of funded pensions. As the Russian Pension Fund previously reported, according to the results of investing pension savings in 2019, which were three times higher than the inflation rate (3%), funded pensions will be increased by 9.13%. Pensions will rise in 80 thousand Russians.

A funded pension is formed from the insurance premiums of employers and the income from their investment. Participants in the program of co-financing of pension savings will receive an increase, for which the generated funds are paid not by an accumulative pension, but by an urgent pension payment. 32 thousand people receive such a pension, since August it will increase by 7.99%.

The average amount of the funded pension is 956 rubles per month, and the urgent pension payment is 1705 rubles per month. Both types of pensions are granted within the previous retirement age: women from 55 years old, men from 60 years old or earlier with the right to early retirement.

At the same time, citizens who have a funded part of less than 5% of the total pension provision receive their funds upon retirement at a time. In other words, everything that has accumulated during work, upon retirement, a person immediately receives. According to the Ministry of Labor, today 98.7% of citizens retiring receive funded funds at a time.
