All trains operate at SNCF. However, they are rarely filled. It seems that the French are in no hurry to book their tickets. “The reservation point for 50% of TGV tickets has only just been crossed. In August, it’s even less. 35% of bookings have been made ”, confirms Anne-Claire Le Sann, France Televisions journalist on the 13H set.
Last year, as of July 1, there were already 15% to 20% more bookings. “This is a real problem for SNCF, because for the moment, this summer’s trains are not profitable”, she adds. To be, they must be filled at least two-thirds. So, the SNCF has already made the choice to delete trains for this summer. Since the Covid-19 crisis, the French have decided everything at the last moment.
