More than 200,000 corona infections in Turkey Abroad

The Department of Health reports that over 87 percent of infected people have recovered. The official death toll from the outbreak is at 5150.

The Turkish authorities are not pleased that Turkey is not on the European Union’s list of safe countries. In the countries on that list, the health situation with regard to coronavirus is comparable or better than the average in Europe.

In addition to Americans, Brazilians and Russians, Turks are not yet welcome in the EU either, much to Ankara’s dismay. “We expect the error regarding travel restrictions for our citizens to be corrected as soon as possible,” said a spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
