The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher has named their three newest otter pups as Gemma, Kai, and Ren. The names were chosen through overwhelming community votes, with nearly 7,000 cast to select potential names for the pups. The name recommendations, which all honored the pups’ native habitats, came from Aquarium volunteers. The otter pups were born on January 31, and the Aquarium hopes that sharing their story will help raise awareness and promote conservation action. More information can be found on the Aquarium’s website.
