The secretary of the Department of the Treasury, Francisco Parés Alicea, reported that from today at 7:00 pm the link will be activated in www.pagodeimpactoeconomico.com, so that eligible individuals, with Income Tax forms filed in 2018, enter their bank information and receive the aid of $ 1,200, included in the CARES Act.
“Today we begin the other stage of the second phase of the Distribution Plan of the Economic Impact Payment, activating the portal for individuals who have not yet filed the 2019 return, but did file the one corresponding to the year 2018 and are eligible to receive the Economic Impact Payment of $ 1,200 ”, announced Parés Alicea.
The official stressed that, as in the first phase of the distribution plan, he is requesting the cooperation of taxpayers when entering their bank information, so that they follow an order, according to the last digit of their Social Security number and thus avoid risks in implementation due to the high demand expected
“Our experience when we recommended shifts to enter bank information, according to the last digit of Social Security, was effective in protecting the system. Thus we ensure that the process runs with the fluidity and effectiveness that has been experienced on our platform. We are going to work in the same way, giving everyone the opportunity to access and we will begin to disburse the payments starting next Wednesday, May 27, 2020, ”explained the secretary.
This week the Department made a first disbursement of $ 47,789,008 from the Economic Impact Payment to 33,183 taxpayers who included their bank accounts in their 2018 returns. Parés Alicea explained that since the Distribution Plan of the incentives approved before the impact of COVID began- 19, some $ 1,128 million have been deposited in the bank accounts of 695,000 citizens.
“Together with Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced, we continue to work hard so that all eligible people receive this help. I remind you that both the process for individuals to enter their bank account information and the disbursement of Payments under the CARES Law, will continue uninterrupted until December 31, 2020. In the same way, the Department continues to work on sending other announced incentives ”, he stressed.
In this sense, the secretary urged individuals who qualify within this second phase, to observe the following recommendations:
- Individuals whose last digit Social Security number culminates in XXX-XX-XXX0, XXX-XX-XXX1, XXX-XX-XXX2, XXX-XX-XXX3, the Department recommends that they start entering their information as of tomorrow, Friday, December 22, May 2020, at 7:00 PM
- Individuals whose last digit Social Security number culminates in XXX-XX-XXX4, XXX-XX-XXX5, XXX-XX-XXX6, the Department recommends that they start entering their information as of Saturday, May 23, 2020, at 7 : 00 PM
- Individuals whose last digit Social Security number culminates in XXX-XX-XXX7, XXX-XX-XXX8, XXX-XX-XXX9, the Department recommends that they begin entering their information as of Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 7: 00 PM
Users of the Unified Internal Revenue System (SURI) will see the activated link in their accounts and will be able to enter bank information through them.
