The sad news came today from France. There, at the 95th year of life, the cinema star Michel Piccoli passed away. Relatives noted that the cause of death was a stroke.
Michel Piccoli is one of the most legendary characters in European cinema and theater of the 20th century, ”Anton Dolin, editor-in-chief of the magazine“ Cinema Art ”, told Echo of Moscow.
Piccoli starred in many famous directors, including Luis Bunuel, Jean-Luc Gadar. In all, during his career, he has played in more than 220 feature and television films. More than a dozen paintings with his participation are considered classics of French and world cinema.
Piccoli has won Cannes and Berlin film festivals, several Cesar awards and several other film screenings.
