Dutchman Jordy de Wijs had to be replaced in the 60th minute of last Saturday’s 4-1 win against Arminia Bielefeld after falling to the hip in the seventh minute. Now it is certain that he will not be able to play in Darmstadt on Saturday (13:00, LIVE! On kicker).
More detailed examinations by team doctor Dr. Ulf Blecker reported a broken rib and muscle injury, the Rhenish announced Wednesday.
Bad luck remains true to the 27-year-old. De Wijs had already sustained a fractured rib in April – this time it’s not the same rib, but one on the other side of the body.
