Less than a month after its launch, Apple announced Monday that it will begin manufacturing its latest iPhone 14 in another country as it seeks to shift some of its production from China.
The company launched the new flagship phone at a highly anticipated event a few days ago, focusing on security updates rather than flashy new tech specs, with the exception of a new watch that focuses on adventures.
“The new line of iPhone 14 offers groundbreaking new technologies and important security capabilities. We are thrilled to be producing it in India,” Apple said in a statement.
JPMorgan analysts predict Apple will move about 5% of iPhone 14 production by the end of 2022 to India, which is the world’s second largest smartphone market after China, according to the agency. Reuters.
