“Following the incident, Ukraine reported to the IAEA that plant personnel restricted access to the ZNPP internal crisis center, which could potentially affect the response in case of an emergency, even if access to an external center remains possible,” the statement said.
In addition, the IAEA added that the Ukrainian regulator SNRIU said that its communication with the Zaporizhzhya NPP was “very limited and fragmented.”
The head of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi, once again stated the need for the organization’s expert mission to arrive at the station as soon as possible “to help stabilize the situation with nuclear safety.”
Recall that on August 6, the Russian aggressors fired twice at the ZNPP. Power unit No. 4 was switched off at the station. Energoatom reported that as a result of shelling damaged nitrogen-oxygen station and a joint auxiliary building.
