Currently, vertical photos are either cropped to fit into an almost square 4:5 aspect ratio, or the photo is displayed as a whole, but still in that same aspect ratio, leaving empty stripes on the sides.
Will this idea manage to prevail, or will it be reworked by the developers? We will have to wait for the results of the test phase to find out. But what is certain is that the early Instagram, which only allowed square photos, is well and truly behind us. And that the future of the application is definitely uncertain.
