General Chairperson of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) Adib Khumaidi opened his voice regarding the possibility that the COVID-19 booster vaccination would be continued to the fourth dose. He did not rule out the possibility that the COVID-19 vaccine would become a routine vaccine like other types of vaccines.
Even so, Adib emphasized that this would depend on the development of the COVID-19 situation in the future. Including the ‘resistance’ of antibodies in the community against COVID-19.
“Because we don’t know that this case is over or it is still ongoing, so this vaccine will be the basis for our efforts to protect us,” he explained, when met at the Pullman Hotel, Jl MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Monday (4/7/2022).
He then gave examples such as the Hajj vaccine to the hepatitis vaccine which is given routinely as a basic joint effort to protect oneself from cases of severe symptoms.
“Like other vaccines, there is hepatitis, or a vaccine for going for Hajj, that’s one thing, I think this is also while we see developments,” he explained.
“Including the possibility that several cases will occur related to COVID-19, it is not impossible that this vaccine will be an effort, then become routine within a certain period to be given,” he concluded.
