On Tuesday, the Lithuanian Parliament passed appropriate amendments to the Lotteries Law with 88 votes in favor and seven abstentions.
The law also prohibits sellers from offering customers the purchase of lottery tickets.
The Seimas also amended the previous decision and completely banned lottery organizers and lottery ticket distributors and their employees from encouraging buyers to participate in lotteries by offering them to buy lottery tickets at their points of sale.
The ban does not apply to the sale of lottery tickets online.
At present, there is no age limit for purchasing lottery tickets in Lithuania, but the winner must be at least 16 years old.
