Foreign Observers Predict the Results of Jokowi’s Meeting with Presidents Putin and Zelensky, Here’s What He Says

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – President Jokowi is rumored to be the ‘peacemaker’ of Russia’s war with Ukraine.

Jokowi will meet the two warring presidents in separate places.

Jokowi will first meet the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev, the Capital of Ukraine.

After that, Jokowi is scheduled to meet the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, the Capital of Russia.

The meeting is scheduled between 29-30 June 2022.

An international political expert who is the Director of the Asia-Pacific Program at Chatham House, Ben Bland, predicts that Jokowi’s efforts will not produce big results.

Bland emphasized that President Jokowi’s chances of finding common ground between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders are minimal.

However, he emphasized that Indonesia’s role regarding the Ukraine issue was very important.
