From an exterior perspective, the Lightyear 0 is in line with the conceptual Lightyear One, which was unveiled in 2019, although it has undergone some changes that are inevitable in adapting the experimental design to the requirements of production vehicles. Compared to the prototype, the production car stands out with different headlights, recessed door handles and moved rear view cameras (it was in the corners of the door but now in the front wings).

The body of the electric car is subject to the goal of maximum rationalization – so it has a drop shape with a roof that blends evenly with the long rear end. Buyers will be able to order aerodynamic shields for the discs. The Lightyear 0 has a coefficient of aerodynamic drag of only 0.19. By comparison, the Tesla Model 3 has a ratio of 0.23, which is 21% worse.
