Venus is often called “Earth’s twin” because of its similar size and structure. But Venus has extreme surface heat and a dense, toxic atmosphere.
Planetary scientists have identified more than 1,600 large volcanoes or volcanic features on Venus.
Reported Space, Venus has more than 1,600 large volcanoes and could have more than 100,000 or even more than 1 million smaller ones.
But scientists debate whether there are still active volcanoes today.
That’s because the extreme pressure and temperature of the planet’s surface make it difficult to investigate the surface of Venus.
