– Cheat a little
The explanation is that the 39-year-old runs a so-called “white” month in January, which means a whole month without alcohol. It is to check the effect of it, Fredrikstadmannen explains to Dagbladet.
“Lazz” has gotten married twice in a week
– It’s going quite well. I cheated a bit then, because I have had the kids almost all of January. I do not drink with my kids. I had one day without kids, then fourteen days had passed, and then I noticed the craving right away. Then I do not have them to focus on, the father of two admits with a laugh.
But he still managed to hold on.
The body is rewarded
Although the “white” month can be challenging for a beer lover like Staysman, the artist has found a temporary solution.
– I had four non-alcoholic beers in the cupboard, it made the feeling I had, longing for beer with alcohol, go away a bit. So it worked surprisingly well.

Doctor Harald Dobloug explains to Dagbladet why the “white” month can be challenging, especially after December where you often drink more alcohol than otherwise.
– It is therefore due to the brain’s adaptation to alcohol. The more you drink, and the longer you have drunk – the more accustomed the brain becomes to alcohol.
So when we stop drinking alcohol, we experience withdrawal symptoms because the brain is used to working with alcohol present, the doctor explains.
Now Katarina Flatland is married
– In other words, our thoughts and feelings have become accustomed to having been “calmed down” by alcohol. So when the alcohol disappears, you remove this sedation, and then unrest and other negative emotions and symptoms occur.
