Belarus will miss Eurovision in 2022

Belarus was again removed from the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in May in Turin. This follows from the list of participants posted on the competition website.

41 countries will take part in the competition in 2022. Italy won the right to host Eurovision after the victory of the Italian band Maneskin with the song Zitti e Buoni in May in Rotterdam in 2021.

In 2021, the organizers of the event dismissed the representative of Belarus, the Galasy ZMesta group with the song “I’ll teach you” for being too politicized. The Galasy ZMesta group has prepared two new songs for Eurovision. However, later the organizers of the competition said that after carefully studying the new material, they came to the conclusion that it also violates the rules.

In response, Belteleradiocompany refused to broadcast the competition. They argued this decision by the fact that the representative of Belarus was not allowed to the competition.

Also, Belteleradiocompany said that “they will make a decision to participate in Eurovision-2022 when the time comes.”
