Siri Nilminie Avlesen-Østli becomes new host of “The Voice”

In a press release on Wednesday afternoon, TV 2 states that 37-year-old Siri Nilminie Avlesen-Østli will be the new host of the singing talent competition «The Voice».

She takes over the helm of the program after Øyvind Mund.

I almost did not think it was true when I was asked if I would like to lead “The Voice”, says the main character himself.

Avlesen-Østli has a long career as a journalist, from 2012 on TV 2, where she has been a reporter, anchor and presenter in TV 2 Sporten, presenter in “Good morning Norway” and anchor in TV 2 Nyhetskanalen. Earlier this year, she was a participant in “Kompani Lauritzen”, while this autumn she is currently a participant in “Skal vi danse”.

– It was insanely big and I was so happy to have the opportunity. The program is fantastic – so yes, this is actually the dream job in my eyes. I am very grateful that TV 2 will focus on me in this role, says the 37-year-old.

TV 2’s program editor, Kathrine Haldorsen, says it is a great pleasure to present Avlesen-Østli as the new program manager for the program.

– Siri is an experienced communicator and with its safe and good nature will also be a solid supporter for the participants in the program. I am absolutely sure that the upcoming “The Voice” season is in the best hands, says Haldorsen.

The seventh season of “The Voice” will be broadcast on TV 2 in 2022.
